A redrawn Congressional map of the Texas redistricting plan stands to upend the 2026 midterm elections and give Republicans an opportunity to add five seats in order to keep their thin majority in the House. Dr. Robin Armstrong, member of the finance commission of the Texas Republican National Committee, shares his thoughts on why this new redistricting map is good for voters. The Texas Legislature’s 30-day special session called by Governor Greg Abbott is scheduled to end August 19, which gives state lawmakers just a few weeks to finish the process.
