South Australian racer Bob Sherry is known for his A/Street Commodore in Super Stock or his Chevy Monza he now runs in Super Sedan, but he also had a stint running Top Fuel in the NEC backed dragster where he managed some success on the track. He went in as the underdog at the 1995 Winfield Grand Finals at Eastern Creek with fellow competitors such as Graeme Cowin, Rachelle Splatt and Jim Read. But in the first round, he was able to drive around a tyre smoking Jim Read with a 5.64 at 241mph to take the win. He would eventually fall to Graeme Cowin in the semi-finals, but it was a valiant effort from the low budget team.
