HEATWAVE KILLS 1,500
Across India, nearly 15 hundred people have died in a heatwave that is expected to continue. Many of the dead have been the elderly, homeless, or workers who haven’t been able to stay inside. In parts of capital New Delhi, where highs have reached as much as 45 celsius, roads have melted. "

FREDDIE GRAY MURDER TRIAL
The attorneys representing the six Baltimore police officers indicted in the death of Freddie Gray, who suffered a fatal spinal injury while in police custody, have filed a motion for a change of venue. They argued the officers “cannot receive a fair and impartial trial in Baltimore City” as any potential juror would bring their prejudices regarding the events with them. Gray’s death sparked a wave of protests which on occasion turned violent. On May 21st, a Baltimore grand jury indicted six Baltimore officers on charges ranging from second degree “depraved heart” murder to misconduct in office."

MIGRANT RESCUE
The Greek coast guard says it picked up 216 migrants in the Aegean Sea. They had entered by sailing from the Turkish coast to nearby islands. It was not immediately clear where the migrants had come from. Greece and Italy are the main points of entry for African and Middle Eastern refugees into the EU. Roughly 30 thousand have gone to Greece this year so far. "

MILITARY SENDS ANTHRAX
A U.S. military facility in Utah mistakenly sent live anthrax bacteria to private laboratories in nine different U.S. states as well as a U.S. military base in South Korea. The Pentagon said there is no risk to the public, but added four civilians have begun preventive measures. At the military base, 22 personnel have begun these measures. The U.S. CDC announced it has launched an investigation into the case.The Pentagon stated the samples were meant to be inactive. "
