A Song of Blood and Citrus: Doran's Dangerous Oranges

Описание к видео A Song of Blood and Citrus: Doran's Dangerous Oranges

“The blood oranges are well past ripe."

When it comes to symbolism and inspiration, George RR Martin draws from a lot of sources - not just myth and literature but also music and movies. And much like a lot of other media that has been produced in the last 50 years, it too has found itself referencing one of the greatest works in cinema - Francis Ford Coppola's 1972 classic The Godfather - through use of the Dangerous Oranges trope set by the film. Here we will examine the symbolism behind the blood oranges and trace how the story of House Martell may possibly be fashioned by that of the Corleone crime family.
