CISF's First Women Commando Unit | Lady Special Forces | News In Focus | The Study IAS

CISF has formed its first All-Women Commando Unit, enhancing women’s participation and gender parity in the security forces. The eight-week intensive training includes physical fitness, weapons handling, live-fire exercises, and jungle survival. The first batch of 30 commandos has been undergoing training since August 2025 and will be deployed in QRT/STF units. By 2026, 2,400 women will be trained, aiming for 10% female representation. This initiative breaks stereotypes and empowers women in front-line operational roles.
