In this video we go over how to calculate the mole fraction of any given component of a solution. For these, we use the formula: Xa = na/ntotal.

Some of the common questions types are: "__ moles of solute is dissolved in __g of water. What is the mole fraction of the solute", "__g of water is mixed with __g of solute. What is the mole fraction for each substance", and finally the problems with multiple solutes with percent masses which you need to convert to moles to get each corresponding mole fraction.
