Meet Dan O'Conor. Known locally as the Great Lake Jumper, Dan jumped in Lake Michigan every day from June 2020 to June 2021. In so doing, he raised funds for Chicago's stuggling music venues during the pandemic. He's also helping support the Chicago Maritime Museum. So why don't you jump in, too, and join us at our virtual Waterways for All fundraiser on October 21. The water's fine!

The City of Big Shoulders began with wet feet. No one tells this story better than the Chicago Maritime Museum.

At varying times, Chicago has been the busiest port or one of the busiest ports in the world. It is a tall order to tell the story of Chicago’s waterways and their emotional and prosperous impact on 19th, 20th and 21st century American growth.
