This is a patriotic song performed by Zhang Di (张帝) from the perspective of the Republic of China (ROC), now Taiwan.

Unlike many of the current ethnic Chinese Taiwanese citizens who pretend to be Japanese or even white, Zhang Di unabashedly expresses his love for his nation, despite the ROC having been defeated and forced into exile by the PRC in 1949. As a result, this song is well-liked by mainland Chinese nowadays as well as by certain Taiwanese.
