Here we have another recording – this time of one of the most eminent ‘water-finders’ (as he called himself) that this country has ever seen…….and most likely one that we shall never see again in our lifetimes.
Introduced by the then Chair at the time, Jo Rowe-Leete, at approx. 70 mins long, George goes through his 50 years of experience of ‘water finding,’ as he prefers to call it of deep boreholes on a no water/no fee basis, for individuals, large water companies, government departments and/or for whole countries, both in person and/or remotely from his home in Wiltshire.
He describes his methods used from rods……down to a simple elastic band when nothing’s to hand.
George had a varied working life, from being torpedoed by a German U-boat off Greenland in WW2 and having to swim for it and following the North Star till luckily finding an upturned lifeboat and later being picked up by a RN Covette, to in the late 40s and 50s moving into geology and water divining, and then on to making energy equipment for the gas and oil industry in the 70s.
Some of his clients were Madonna and Elton John, and when giving this talk in ’98 he was 77, leaving this earth in his 93rd year. (2015)
Well worth watching although the sound quality at the start is a bit quiet.
