On the Ground in Chimney Rock 2.5 Months After Hurricane Helene

Описание к видео On the Ground in Chimney Rock 2.5 Months After Hurricane Helene

On December 6, my father, brother, and I drove from Virginia to Chimney Rock, North Carolina, on a hurricane relief mission. We raised awareness, collected money and supplies, rented a U-Haul, and drove to Asheville. We passed through the River Arts District, which now looks like a war zone. After dropping off the supplies in Asheville, we continued on to Chimney Rock. Nothing could have prepared us for the devastation there. There are no words to describe Chimney Rock, and no camera can capture what it’s like to be there (though I tried my best). I hope this video raises awareness of Chimney Rock and the surrounding areas, as they have lost everything and, as of now, won’t receive a dime back. The communities there have leaned on each other, as well as countless volunteers from all over the country. They are rebuilding and recovering, slowly but surely. Prayers for everyone in Western NC and everywhere else affected by Hurricane Helene.
