Jon and Amy’s story:

Jewelry Artist Todd Alan makes "A Cord of Three" Diamond Wedding Ring set for customers Jon and Amy. In their ceremony, Jon and Amy, used the biblical references “A Cord of Three” connecting the biblical passage to their wedding rings. Todd was also able to braid both rings from the same strand, adding further symbolism to their union.

Jon and Amy wrote a description of the meaning of their rings into their actual ceremony…
“The symbolism comes from the Bible in Ecclesiastes 4:9-12. This passage describes the power of three that emanates from two people who not only consciously choose to walk together in life, but to also bring God into the equation.

9Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their efforts. 10For if either falls, his companion can lift him up; but pity the one who falls without another to lift him up. 11Also, if two lie down together, they can keep warm; but how can one person alone keep warm? 12And if someone overpowers one person, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not easily broken.”

From the Ceremony:
"Jon and Amy’s rings were designed with this “cord of three” concept in mind. Each ring contains a braid of three individual cords – one strand of white gold, one strand of rose gold, and one rope strand of yellow gold that wraps around the other two. The white gold symbolizes Jon’s life path, and the rose gold symbolizes Amy’s. God brought those two paths together at a time in their lives when they needed each other the most. The yellow gold is God’s eternal and protective love, binding Jon and Amy together in the covenant of marriage. The artist who created the rings wove the three gold strands into a braid first. He then took that single long braid and cut the two rings from it. These two rings will rest on both Jon’s and Amy’s fingers for as long as they live, reminding them of their commitment that they made today and that God, in his infinite grace, purposely brought them together."
