It was a do or die game for both teams as Panathinaikos won game 1 and Efes tied the best of 3 series in Turkey.

OAKA was once again stacked with 20.000 fans waiting for Panathinaikos' return to the Final Four after 3 years!

In the first few minutes Efes had the lead with (9-1), but Pao went for a 13-0 run (14-9) and soon took the absolute control of the game with his full court press, despite Domercants' heroics.
Before the halftime Efes tried a 2-3 zone defense to slow down the tempo, but that made things even worse, as Obradovic had all the answers to break the zone (watch at 8:38 ) while Alvertis, Kutluay and Lakovic where on fire from three. Efes insisted on that defense that resulted to a huge deference as Panathinaikos was shooting the remarkable 12/16 beyond the arc until late in the third!
(It's funny to watch Real Madrid trying the same kind of defense 18 years later in game 2, with similar results against Zeljiko's Partizan!)

In the fourth quarter, the Greens seemed to have already travelled in Moscow with their minds, letting Efes get back in the game (74-69), but their effort came up short due to Diamantidis' clutch plays.

Final Score: 84-76 | 1st 22-17 | 2nd 48-39 | 3rd 72-52 | 4th 84-76
