Beautiful day of ice fishing in southern Maine. We landed a couple small Brooktrout.. noticed a flag up. The trap was bent sideways. The fish appeared to be tangled up on a large branch under the ice. It was only luck that it came free only to come through the ice hole and break. It’s 12 pound fluorocarbon leader with a mighty head shake. I reached out and batted the fish out of mid air right before it fell back into the ice hole. We could’ve lost that fish but instead we celebrated even if we celebrated a little too much. We were fired up ice fishing in southern Maine . BUCKS BASS AND BEYOND / Maine Guide Service.
