With Glacier One a darkened, depowered mess, Samus heads to the Quarantine Cave to see what the Pirates are keeping there. A bunch of boulders lay there, but upon closer inspection, they come to life and form a colossus!

Boss: Thardus (1:00)
Thardus shows no weak points...unless you switch to the Thermal Visor. The Pirates had discussed finding shielding for the exposure, but the Phazon infusion highlights the weakest rocks. Expose those rocks by shooting them (which overloads the Thermal Visor). Simply crush those rocks with Charge Beam shots and Super Missiles.

Thardus attacks in various ways. It will summon rocks from the ground that have a limited trace on Samus. It clobbers the ground and unleashes a stream of ice that can freeze Samus. It gives a massive swipe if one gets close to it. Finally, it turna Samus and rolls into a ball, attempting to smash anything in its way. It should be noted though that when it goes into its rolling form, some Morph Ball Bombs laid around it reveal it weak points, making switching to the Thermal Visor unnecessary.

Oh, and that snowstorm is annoying...but it's soooo gorgeous now (plus the lightning bolts)!
