🔴Building the ULTIMATE Budget Streaming MONSTER!! Threadripper 2920X Live Build

FIRST THREADRIPPER BUILD, LET'S GO NERDS!!

When I visited ‪@pcworld‬ on my way back from Computex 2024, they had a few extra bits of tech they wanted to get rid of...including a brand new in box AMD Threadripper 2920X! After they let me choose from their stack of X399 motherboards (went with the ASUS ROG Zenith Extreme), I began planning to build a dedicated streaming PC. Sure, the 2920X only has 12 cores, but with 64 PCIe Gen 3 lanes and prices starting as low as $99 for a used 2920X on Ebay, this could be the sleeper deal of the decade for anyone looking to build a massively capable streaming machine.

Of course, the CPU and mobo wouldn't be the only parts I needed, soI reached out to Kingston and they provided me with A 480GB DC1000B enterprise M.2 SSD, 64GB of their Server Premier ECC DDR4-3200, a 2TB KC3000 M.2 SSD, and a 1.92TB DC600M enterprise SATA SSD. These were provided free of charge, but no money changed hands and Kingston did not sponsor this stream. Thanks a ton Kingston!

Yes, I know X399 doesn't support PCIe Gen 4. The KC3000 will still be fast enough at Gen 3 and it's a very reliable drive.

Side note: I am using a DeepCool case and PSU in this build. With the current situation they're going through, I understand that this can raise questions. This stream is not sponsored by DeepCool, and while the parts were provided to me free of charge, that was many months ago in early 2024. That being said, the case and PSU are both awesome and I don't want them to just gather dust.
