Another year.
Another pause for reflection. ✨

As the year ends, I ask myself a few simple questions:
What happened?
Was I consistent with my purpose?
What, if anything, should change?

In 2025, 52 Steps Forward crossed 5,000+ reads.
Subscriber growth? Modest.
But the purpose remains unchanged.

Here’s what I’m carrying forward:
1️⃣ Writing is still the point
It sharpens my thinking, strengthens my voice, and keeps me grounded—even if growth is slow.

2️⃣ AI is powerful—but process matters
AI can improve writing. I choose not to use it here. For me, writing is thinking, and I need the struggle.

3️⃣ Depth over speed
In a world of scrolling, tweets, and memes, I’ll keep choosing 500–700 words and three minutes of attention.

4️⃣ No shortcuts, no gimmicks
Like homemade gumbo, something essential is lost when you rush the process.

5️⃣ Responsibility rests with me
My thoughts. My writing. My (almost nonexistent) marketing.
