Описание к видео Visit the B&M Factory in Portland, Maine, Where They Make Their Famous Canned Brown Bread

Don’t knock it till you try it! This New England tradition was born out of necessity and predates the founding of our country. In this season 4 segment of Weekends with Yankee (episode 410), we are in Portland, Maine to check out the B&M Factory, producer of brown bread and baked beans. Brown bread can be traced back to the settlers and is still being produced 300 years later. Distinctly New England, this is a food rarely heard of in other regions of the country. However, one bite and you can taste the history of our nation. Traditionally eaten on a saturday, Brown Bread and baked beans remain a weekend staple in families all over New England.

Important note: This segment is from season 4 and was filmed before the B&M Factory shut down. However, we chose to post this segment as a fond memory to look back on for those who loved it so.

This segment is from season 4 which aired in 2020. To see the full episode: https://newengland.com/weekends_with_...
