휠체어를 타고 ​비​행의​ ​꿈을 이룬 사람, 미국​ 이베이 본사의 최영재 엔지니어, ​많은 세바시 팬들에게​ ​용기를​ ​줬던 최영재 님. 장애를 넘어선​ 그의​ 이야기가 방영된 후,​ ​세바시 열린번역​ ​멤버들은 그의​ 한국어​ 강연​을 영어로 번역했습니다. 그리고 그의 스토리를 몰랐던 최영재님의​ ​동료들은​ 영어로 번역된 그의 강연을 듣고 감​동을 받았습니다. 그리고 며칠 후 세바시에 메일 한통을 보내왔습니다.

"안녕하세요.​ 저희는 이베이 본사의 직원들입니다. 세바시 열린번역팀과 함께​ ​Young(최영재)의 강연을 번역해서​ 더 많은 사람들에게​ 알리고 싶​습니다​"

세계 각국에서 온 이베이의 직원들은 그의​ ​강연을​ 자국어로 번역하기 시작했습니다. 그리고 그 열개의 자막이 완성되던 날, 열린번역의 운영자가 참가한 가운데 미국 eBay 본사에서 최영재님의 서프라이즈 파티가 있었스니다. 10개​의 언어로 번역된 최영재님의 강연은 ​강연자​ 뿐만 아니라 번역에 참여한 모두를 주인공으로 만들었습니다.

한국어는 물론​ 영어, 중국​어 등 ​다양한 ​언어로 ​자막이 달린​ 세바시 강연수​ 약 300개. 세바시, 15분의 시간​ ​동안 울고 웃으며 다시 한 번 견뎌내리라 ​다짐했던 순간이 있었고, 같은 고민을 하는 누군가에게 꼭 소개해​​주고 싶은 강연이​ ​있었을​ 겁니다. 자막을 통해​ 한국을 넘어 전세계로​ ​세바시 강연의​ 가치를 알리는 열린번역 프로젝트. 이제 여러분과 함께 하고 싶습니다.

Young Choi, a man on a wheel chair who fulfilled the dream of being a pilot, and a engineer in eBay Head Office. After his story of overcoming his physical disability, the members of the Open Translation Team translated his Korean speech into English. And Mr. Choi's co-workers were deeply impressed by his translated speech. A few days later, we received an email.

"Hi, we're the staff members of eBay. We would like to translate Young's speech with the SEBASI Open Translation Team and let more people know of his story."

The employees of eBay from all around the world started translating his speech into their own language. On the day the translations in 10 different languages were complete, a surprise party was held at eBay in U.S. with the manager of Open Translation Team present. Mr. Choi's translated speech made everyone who participated feel proud of what they did.

From Korean to English and Chinese etc., 300 videos of SEBASI were subtitled into different languages. 15 minutes of making a new resolution, and the moments that you wanted to introduce the speech to anyone who is agonizing over the same issues.
