I'm excited to present you how to easily create an intelligent non-contact level sensor that can detect the presence of #liquid in plastic, glass or ceramics containers up to 20mm thick. The #XKC #Y25 sensor that I will use will become ON when there is liquid at or above the sensor level, and OFF when it drops below that level.
Since the sensor doesn't have any contact with the liquid, it's perfect for hazardous applications, like detecting toxic substances and other liquids in containers under high pressure.
For this DIY project, you will need an XKC Y25 sensor and an ESP board, like a D1 mini, to which you'll connect the liquid sensor and upload the ESPHome firmware, so you can read the sensor data wirelessly. Don't worry, I'll show you the wiring and firmware uploading procedure, and you can find links for all the necessary parts in the video description.
