Homeland Security confirms that one detainee is dead and two others have been critically injured during a shooting at a Dallas ICE facility. The shooter opened fire from a nearby roof and struck three before committing suicide.

Authorities say the exact motive is not known at this time. However, the FBI admitted during a morning news conference that ammunition found at the scene contained anti-ICE messaging.

Kash Patel released a photo of a bullet containing the words "ANTI-ICE" written with a marker. In a release, the Department of Homeland Security said, "The shooter fired indiscriminately at the ICE building, including at a van in the sallyport where the victims were shot."

The suspect has since been identified as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn. Officials say one of the injured detainees is from Mexico. President Donald Trump has called for more crackdowns, saying "the deranged shooter wrote 'ANTI-ICE' on his shell casings. This is despicable!"

No ICE agents were shot during the shooting. FBI agents responded to the residence of Joshua to search for evidence.

As for Vice President JD Vance, he has blamed Democrats for the Dallas shooting. He told reporters, "When Democratic politicians incur doxing, when they encourage us to unmask ICE enforcement officers, what do you think is going to happen?"

"What's going to happen is political violence, and political violence has gotten out of control in this country."

He also went on to say, "Just because we don't support illegal aliens, we don't want them to be executed."

At this time, little is known about Joshua Jahn. According to social media posts from Laura Loomer, Joshua's Facebook profile shows communist symbols. The profile has since been scrubbed from the Internet. His blue Toyota Corolla was found near the scene of a shooting.

The car had a printed map of radioactive fallout taped to the rear quarter panel. The image has since been traced to Richard Miller's book Under the Cloud: The Decades of Nuclear Testing.

In 2016, Joshua was arrested on a felony charge of delivering marijuana. He pleaded guilty and received five years of deferred adjudication probation.

His brother, Noah, told NBC News that he did not believe his brother held strong political views. "He didn't have strong feelings about ICE as far as I knew. He wasn't interested in politics on either side as far as I knew."

He said that his parents owned a rifle, but Joshua was "not a marksman" and "would not be able to make any shots like that."

Noah also said that his brother previously worked as a coder, but was unemployed and planned on moving in with their parents in Oklahoma.
