All Eurovision 2020 Song Intros Sorted by Length (Studio Versions)

Описание к видео All Eurovision 2020 Song Intros Sorted by Length (Studio Versions)

DETAILS
the "introduction" here is defined as the opening part of the song before the main credited artist (if not applicable, main vocalist) starts singing the main defined vocal line of the song
backing vocals can be part of the intro

For this year alone, only studio versions have been counted. Due to the cancellation, not all entries have a live performance done in a competitive environment so it simply wouldn't be fair to have a mix of live performances/music videos for the purpose of measuring intro length.

Because of this, 2020 will not be treated the exact same in future videos dealing with intro stats that combine years together- who knows what differences there would have been to these lengths if the contest had gone ahead? For example, singers coming in very tiny amounts of time early/late, new Eurovision versions made after the album release, artists singing along with backing vocals (thereby shortening the existing intro)- there are too many variables up in the air- just like the sections of 1993 and 1996 with the NQs at the beginning, it's purely for curiosity!

Other details:
Bulgaria and Latvia could have easily ended up with the backing vocals at the beginning also being sung by the artists if the contest went ahead live. It kind of sounds like it's already the case here but with studio versions different rules are needed- all the vocals in those sections are mixed like backing vocals, so they will be treated as such. It's also often the case that in the live backing vocal era (which this year would've been the last of), an artist is heard in the backing vocals of their own studio version, but different people sing these live. We can probably say it's highly likely neither artist would've sung in those sections (especially looking at Latvia's national final performance) but you can never be sure.

I hope you enjoy the video!
