Sadpara Lake (also spelled Satpara Lake) is a stunning natural lake located near Skardu in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. It’s one of the most easily accessible yet incredibly scenic spots in the region.

Location:
About 9 km (5.6 miles) south of Skardu city, en route to Deosai National Park.

Elevation:
Approx. 2,636 meters (8,650 feet) above sea level.

Glacial Origin:
Fed by melting glaciers from the surrounding mountains.

Turquoise Waters:
Known for its deep blue and turquoise hues, especially in the summer months.

Sadpara Dam:
A dam built on the lake provides water and hydroelectric power to Skardu.

📅 Best Time to Visit

May to September — Roads are clear, and the lake is fully accessible.

In winter, the lake can freeze over, and access becomes difficult due to heavy snowfall.

📍 How to Get There

From Skardu City, it’s a 20–30 minute drive on a paved road.

Taxis and local jeeps are available; private cars can also reach the lake easily
