BIOGRAPHY: Ben Marsh is a Reader in History, the educational director of The Age of Revolution project, and Impact and Knowledge Exchange Lead for the Division of Arts & Humanities at the University of Kent. A historian of Early America and the Atlantic World, Ben has published widely on social and economic history, including award-winning books on the settlement of Georgia (The Female Frontier) and on attempts to grow silk in Atlantic societies (Unravelled Dreams). He edited a collaborative volume Understanding and Teaching the Age of Revolution (2018) which has led to extensive partnership activities with academics, teachers, and heritage sites, supported by Waterloo200, and he is currently working on an episode of dirt-eating, the experiences of loyalists in the American Revolution, and the latest round of activities and resources designed to encourage classroom engagement with the Age of Revolution (c.1775-1848) in the UK.
