Bach - Flute sonata in E minor BWV 1034 - Root | Netherlands Bach Society

In this flute sonata – recorded here for All of Bach with Marten Root, Mieneke van der Velden and Menno van Delft – Bach makes the most of the delicate, soft timbre of the traverso, while also paying special attention to the bass or continuo part. The conversation partners are equally interesting on many points. So the piece might be better regarded as a duet for traverso and basso continuo.
