Back to nature /Across Saltfjellet National Park - Lønsdal, Riebbevaggi and Beiarn

Video from my trip across Saltfjellet national park. I started at Lønsdal and followed the T- trail, while meeting reindeer. I camped at Lønstindvannet (1050 masl) with great sunset views and millions of stars in the night sky. Day 2 was supposed to lead me to the hearth of Saltfjellet, valleys Riebevaggi and Stormdalen where I have never been before. After 9 kms i left T-trail and followed the river for several hours, while meeting reindeer in an area which is one of the finest wilderness alpine areas I have seen in Nordland. After 10 hours of hiking, I was heading to Skavelfjellet which is a wall of mountains dividing Stormdalen from Blåkkådalen. After a bit of a steep uphill part I reached an unbelievable place. Small lake at 1070 masl with amazing views on Beiarn mountains and glaciers. It was almost impossible to fall asleep up there. Day 3 was 15 km through Blåkkådalen and Staupådalen, while crossing a few rivers and seeing old glacier moraines from 1700 and 1800. Saltfjellet-Svartisen is a real gem among national parks, and I cannot wait till my next trip in one of many long and rarely visited valleys.
