When analyzing our timber for better deer habitat, we should always start with considering logging.  Now logging isn't possible on every property, but when it is possible, it's a great way to get very good deer habitat quickly.

In this video, I discuss 5 reasons why you should consider logging on your property.  We logged our property 4 1/2 years ago and the results have been pretty spectacular.

For foliar treatment of buckthorn I treat them with a 5% solution of Triclopyr 4. For cut stump I treat the stump with a 25% solution of Triclopyr 4/ 75% diesel or crop oil. I like to mix in applicator dye with both solutions to see where I'm spraying easier. You end up using less chemical if you mix in dye.
