I tested Amul, NIC, and Go Zero using a CGM sensor after dinner, and here’s what I found (not a sponsored video):

➡️ Go Zero: Smallest spike (103 mg/dL) with zero added sugar and about 2 tsp natural sugar.
➡️ NIC: Slightly higher spike (104 mg/dL) with 4.5 tsp added sugar and 6 tsp total sugar.
➡️ Amul: Biggest spike (115 mg/dL) with 9 tsp added sugar and 12 tsp total sugar.

There are 3 possible reasons why the blood sugar spikes weren’t very high:
1️⃣ Portion size: The quantity was limited to 300ml, so the sugar load wasn’t excessive.
2️⃣ Fat content in ice cream: Fat slows down the absorption of sugar, leading to a more gradual rise in blood sugar levels.
3️⃣ Balanced dinner: I had a meal rich in protein, fat, and fiber ~2 hours before the test, which helps stabilize blood sugar and reduces the glycemic impact of desserts.
