Additionally, Ukrainian forces defending the Serebryansky forest abandoned their positions after three years of battle. This represents a true turning point, as the Siversk salient is now being outflanked from the north. Overall, Ukraine's commander in chief Syrsky believes these territorial losses are acceptable for such a secondary sector of the front.
