Starting on the ELITE start at the Great North Run // Worlds Biggest Half Marathon?

The Great North Run, perhaps the world’s biggest half marathon. 60,000 people descending on the city of Newcastle, to take on the rolling 13.1 mile race. For many it is a bucket list item just to get into the race alone, drawn out of a ballot and entering only on luck. Plenty opt for a charitable entry, raising money for a cause close to their heart.

Naomi on the other hand for the last few years has had the goal not only to do the Great North run but to gain herself an ‘elite’ entry, guaranteed entry. On the front row, leading the charge of the masses. In the elite women’s field, who gain the privilege of setting off before the 60,000 participants to combat the streets, roads and hills. It’s more than a bucket list item, it’s an item achieved through her own dedication, drive and willingness to achieve what she has set out to do so.

So come along for the ride as we both take on the 13.1 miles this weekend and see how we get on.
