Wheeler Rd. Fire (Monroe, CT) 1/30/21

MONROE, CT - At approximately 10:30pm on January 30, 2021, the Monroe, Stevenson, and Stepney Fire Departments were dispatched to the 400 block of Wheeler Road for a reported barn fire. First companies on scene found heavy fire showing from a 2-story barn with attached garages. Fortunately, the family’s dog escaped from the barn uninjured before FD arrival. Nine out of ten vehicles stored in the barn were saved due to the actions of firefighters battling the blaze through the night in temps hovering around 14 degrees. Mutual aid was called to the scene from Shelton and Botsford, while station coverage was provided by Oxford.
