My basket of pattern blocks sat on the shelf for YEARS collecting dust. They were so… well… uninspiring. 👎 Can you relate?!

But then I decided to do something about it! I added a number to each spot and turned the mats into a dice game. The kids were thrilled! Everyone loves a game of chance, right?!

And the best part is that now, not only were they practicing geometry, but they were also working on subitizing (instantly recognizing numbers), addition and tallying. It was a win-win!
