Brocade Gen 7 Making End Devices Aware with FPIN (Fabric Performance Impact Notifications)

Brocade Storage Networking brings autonomous SAN features to customers that not only reduce the meantime to resolution of the issues that arise in a SAN fabric but also mitigate potential performance impacts to maintain the highest availability possible. The Fabric Performance Impact Notifications (FPIN) feature allows end devices to make use of information available in the Brocade fabric via event driven notifications to take automated actions in turn mitigating multipath issues, congestion, and oversubscription. If supported hardware and software is present, there is very little configuration required to begin taking advantage of FPIN and its benefits. Some storage vendors already support FPIN today while others are working towards introducing FPIN support.
