The vault final at any major competition is composed of 8 gymnasts who must perform two vaults from two different groups and the average score will determine the final ranking. 99% of the time, one fall will completely erase the chances of finishing on the podium; but with two falls… the bottom of the ranking is almost guaranteed.

In this video, we’ll take a look at instances where gymnasts fell on both vaults during a final.
