AFL Grand Final Day 2011 & what about those Geelong Cats? Well, we had an awful season, didn't we? What with Gary Ablett & 'Bomber' Thompson's departures and it seemed like half the team was ready for a retirement home. No wonder we ended up ceding top spot on the ladder to the Pies & getting beaten by Eagles, Swans & Bombers. Then there were all those terrible injuries to our best young players, Nathan Vardy & Daniel Menzel out of action till well into next season. And to top it all off that disastrous injury to the mercurial, magic Stevie J in the preliminary final. Just goes to show that humans can not yet predict the future.
Gruntlesnoot trundled along to the Cats' Supporters post Premiership festivities at Kardinia Park on the day after and as you will see (despite the season's adversities!) found the Cats in inexplicably good humour. I apologise for the pitching & rolling of the images but 10 rows back in a tight crowd of thousands without any possiblity of tripod or even monopod (and on zoom) it wasn't easy....
