Parisher Ransomware is a release variant of Mobef Ransomware. It uses a unique and very strong encryption algorithm to encrypt your personal files. Interestingly, this ransomware is configured to encrypt documents only, so it encrypts files such as .docx, .xml, .txt, .pdf, and so on. Research has shown that it can be distributed by exploiting Windows RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) through Microsoft RDC (Remote Desktop Connection) software. There have also been cases of computers becoming infected through TeamViewer. However, its distribution methods may not be limited to the ones mentioned above as they are not that effective as distribution via email spam. Once Parisher Ransomware has encrypted the files, it will generate three files. The first file is named HELLO.0MG which is the ransom note and it is placed in each folder of %USERPROFILE%. The second file is LOKMANN.KEY993 which is a 1024-bit key and is also placed in each subfolder of %USERPROFILE%. However, the purpose of this file is currently not yet known. The third file [6 digit-long ID].log is placed in %WINDIR% and it features the list of encrypted files. Unfortunately, there is no way to decrypt the files for free, but we do not recommend paying the ransom as the developer might not send you the decryption key.
