Gravitational Potential Energy: This is the energy an object has due to its position relative to another mass (usually a planet, star, or any massive object that generates a gravitational field).

Absolute: In this context, "absolute" means the gravitational potential energy is calculated with respect to an infinite distance away from the source of gravity, where the gravitational pull is considered negligible.

Negative Energy: Gravitational potential energy is typically negative because work is required to move an object from the gravitational field (i.e., from close to the massive object) to infinity. When at infinity, the potential energy is defined as zero. So, any position closer to the mass will have less potential energy, making it negative.
