NV3550 to AX15 Jeep Transmission Swap

In this episode of the LS TJ, 'Project 6.0', we swap out the nv3550 transmission to the AX15. Some may feel that this is a downgrade but it is quite the contrary as the NV3550 is no longer manufactured and parts are almost obsolete. However, the AX15 is still being manufactured and is dubbed as being underrated by many. So we decided to go with a brand new AX15 from Novak Conversions. This was a simple and easy swap and very little to be modified. We also took the liberty to upgrade to a B&M short-throw shifter while we had the opportunity. This did require slight modification due to the install of the LS engine(lq9) because it required the drive train to be moved forward about 2 inches. The full install can be seen on the channel so check out the vids! You will be very pleased with the short-throw shifter in any swapped or stock jeep. It is a HUGE difference in the shifting.
