Josh Sneddon, VikingJersey dairy farmer in New Zealand

Описание к видео Josh Sneddon, VikingJersey dairy farmer in New Zealand

“Breeding is the solution to achieve profitable production with the least amount of input,” says Josh Sneddon. He and his dad have been very satisfied with their VikingJersey cows for over 30 years now. The family history is deeply rooted in Jersey dairy farming.

At their 98-hectare Tahau Farm they have 310 Jersey cows. Current VikingJersey sires they use include VJ Hilton, VJ Hitman, VJ Garant, VJ Hiwe, VJ Lure and VJ Lux. The family is very content with the performance of their VikingJersey cows – they produce well, get in calf easily, there are no problems in calving and they have great udder health.

Restrictions in the dairy industry have shifted the family’s focus more to environmental factors and sustainability. They want to breed compact-sized, feed-efficient cows.

Watch the video and meet Josh Sneddon and his family from Tokoroa, New Zealand.
