So, a few weeks ago, Ryanair announced that they were going to be changing their free ‘small bag’ - that’s the one that goes underneath the seat in front of you - from 40 x 25 x 20cm to… 🥁

Yes, I know, a WHOPPING 5cm more!! 😆 However jokes aside, this does take the size of bag from 20L to up to 24L so it does actually mean you can pack a little more.

Now, they said it was going to take a bit of time to get this up and running and after checking their website for the past few weeks, I finally saw that it was WEBSITE OFFICIAL when I was checking luggage sizes yesterday 🎉

SO - I was very excited to get myself to the airport and to actually check out what that means for the cage of dooms (also known as baggage sizers).

WELL…

It was exactly what I expected 😆 No change to the physical structure of the baggage sizer - at least not this one - but a sticker inside that shows the new measurements that you’re now allowed.

It looks like a TINY difference but… Between you and I, I think the baggage sizers have always been a bit too big… 😱 I know. I realised when I was measuring that Primark Ryanair suitcase this year but didn’t want to flag it because… Well, any extra space is good space to me!!!

Also, my 40 x 30 x 20cm Primark black bag fit perfectly inside so the measurements do check out but I am tempted to buy a tape measure for my return journey!!
