The 4.8 level earthquake that hit NY earlier in the day didn’t shake the room as much as Dr. Williams who shared her experience raising two school-aged boys with disabilities, her initial lack of knowledge about autism, the sadness she felt being a special education teacher and coming to the realization that she was a parent of a child with special needs, and some amazing words of wisdom for families navigating the challenges of raising children with disabilities.
