CTM 2022: Conversation with Edward George and Dhanveer Singh Brar

One of Dhanveer Brar’s imperatives for the writing of Teklife, Ghettoville, Eski was to imagine the book functioning as a research document for a reworking of The Last Angel of History. A 1996 essay-film generated by the Black Audio Film Collective (of which Edward George was a founding member), the film became known for its theoretical and historical analysis of black diasporic experiments in sound and technology (such as dub, funk, techno and jungle). In this session, Dhanveer and Eddie will look to take this founding imperative of Teklife, Ghettoville, Eski seriously and begin to construct a set of theoretical impulses for a possible film, through the assembly of its soundtrack.
