ABANDONED Harrisburg Mall! Dead Mall Walkthrough!

Описание к видео ABANDONED Harrisburg Mall! Dead Mall Walkthrough!

The Harrisburg Mall opened in 1969 with three anchor stores (JCPenney, Wanamaker's, and Gimbels) along with over 65 inline stores. In 1999 Wanamaker's would be replaced by Lord & Taylor, which in 2004 would become a Bass Pro Shops. JCPenney closed in 2001 and would be replaced by Boscov's in 2003. This Boscov's location (along with nine other) would close in 2008 as the result of Chapter 11 bankruptcy. No retail chain would again occupy this space, which is now prepped for demolition.
The spot once occupied by Gimbels would become a Hess's in 1978 before being rebranded as Hecht's in 1994, which itself would be rebranded as a Macy's in 2006. That location would close in 2020, and like the Boscov's space it to is prepped for demolition.
In 2004 a revitalization project would start. This included a new 14-screen Great Escape theater and a retail streetscape. The finishing touches on this project would come to a halt during the 2008 financial crisis, and the mall itself would be sold at a sheriff's sale in 2009.
Since then, the mall has dwindled, and its current owners have submitted plans for the demolition of the mall.

Join me on a tour of this dead mall, which in only a year's time will be demolished.
