BDO Gathering: Hides

Описание к видео BDO Gathering: Hides

Let's change the pace up a bit, while we wait for Kamaslyvia, let's look into another big part of Black Desert Online, Crafting and Gathering. Almost all weapons/armor/items require some kind of hide to be crafted. In this video, I looked at the best places to gather each types of hide based on density, accessibility and ease of gathering. Several hide-types have multiple different base-hides, but I'll focus on the easiest to get sub-hides to save you time and effort! Let's get started

Since we are chasing Hides, we will need a Tanning Knife to collect the hides, preferably Lucky/Magic Tanning Knives, with the former being craftable, so you can essentially create a permanent cycle of crafting Lucky Tanning Knives, farming more hides and then making more Tanning Knives with the hides you collect!

Soft Hide - 00:26
Soft Hide can be crafted by drying Deer/Sheep/Fox hide, with Sheep being the easiest, most plentiful type of find (This is also one of the best sources for 'Meat' used for cooking. Sheep can be found north-west of Heidel on 'Sheep Mountain', and have a very high respawn rate. The area can generally support up to 3-people gathering due to the high respawn rate and total number of sheep.

Tough Hide - 01:17
Tough Hide can crafted by drying Rhino/Ox/Pig Hide, with Rhino/Ox being the easiest hide to find, being plentiful in areas of Mediah. Rock Head Bison are a great source, as they have a 'herd' AI, so attacking one will draw surrounding ones to its aid, for easy large piles of corpses to harvest. This area is south of Kusha, and is a short ride from Alti/Heidel.

Hard Hide - 01:46
Hard Hide is a base component of Tanning Knives, with regular Hard Hide for Steel Tanning Knives and Fine Hard Hide for Shining Steel Tanning Knives (The best kind of Lucky Tanning Knives if you can get the lucky worker procs with a Human Worker).
It is made by drying Lizard and Worm Hide, with Lizard Hide being the easiest and plentiful to find. One of the best spots is near Northwestern Gateway, west of Heidel.

Thin Hide - 02:27
Thin Hide is crafted by drying Raccoon/Weasel Hide, with Weasel being the easiest and most plentiful to find. They are plentiful in Balenos, near Olvia and Velia, and there are multiple pockets of them all around. The only issue is with their small size and wide dispersion, but if Thin Hide is what you are after, Balenos will be where you want to be!

Thick Fur - 03:09
Thick Fur can be made by drying Bear/Wolf/Lion Hide, however as of the time of this video, absolutely nothing is made with Thick Fur hides at any tier of use. This may change in a future expansion.
The best place to gather Thick Fur is from Wolves, as Bears are very sparsely populated and Lions are better to butcher for meat (also, being located far away in Valencia), so Wolves will be the quickest and easiest way to gather Thick Fur.

Fancy Fur - 03:53
Fancy Fur can be crafted by drying Waragon/Cheetah Dragon/Snake Hide, however Waragons will be the quickest and easiest way to gather a decent amount in a small period of time. Cheetah Dragons are sparsely grouped, and snakes are tiny AND sparse, while Waragons have decent sized density in two locations, Calpheon and Valencia. The Valencia mobs will require some AP, but if you are there during a guild quest, it is the prime time to gather some hides! Otherwise, the Waragon Nest beneath the Wheat Plantation will be your quickest and easiest way to gather these hides.

Fancy Feathers - 04:33
Fancy Feathers can be crafted by Filtering/Thinning Flamingo Plume's gathered in the lakes south of Heidel. The mobs are sparsely populated, and you'll be killing one, gathering before hopping to the next, as these creatures do not group up at all. Flamingos are the only source of these at this time, with Griffon Feathers being the secondary source in a future expansion.

Lightweight Plume - 05:14
Lightweight Plumes can be gathered by Filtering/Thinning Soft Kuku Bird Plume's gathered from, you guessed it, Kuku Birds located Northwest of Heidel. At this time, the only source of this hide is the KuKu bird, with Perry plumes being a secondary source in a future expansion. Like Flamingos, there are no large groups of these, so they are slightly sparsely populated by very easy to find, if you are gathering these materials.

Hopefully this has helped you find a steady supply of all the hides you wish to acquire, slightly different from what I usually uploaded but after hitting 61 and waiting from Kama, there isn't much more spaces to creating grinding videos for except the Lower-Level areas.
