Fort Siloso | SingaporeIsland

Описание к видео Fort Siloso | SingaporeIsland

Fort Siloso is Singapore's only well-preserved coastal fort that served as part of the country's defences. The fort is situated on Pulau Blakang Mati, today Sentosa, an island south of mainland Singapore. The on-site military museum contains a treasure trove of WWII memorabilia, including coastal guns, the remains of fortified military structures and tunnels, as well as an interactive video documentary, complete with wax figures of Japanese & British soldiers at the Surrender Chambers. The Surrender Chambers in Fort Siloso reopened in June 2017 with a refreshed exhibition and free admission.

Come see Fort Siloso in a new way this Bicentennial. Created by prolific muralist Yip Yew Chong, “Waves of the Straits” unfurls the historical timeline and legends of the Singapore Straits. Rippling over the 230m long Fort Siloso Road, it is Yip’s largest physical artwork ever created, in conjunction with Singapore’s Bicentennial commemoration, comprising of a series of paintings on the walls, the road, and rocks.
