Exploring Sentinel-1 SAR Data with ESRI's New Sentinel-1 Explorer Tool

Описание к видео Exploring Sentinel-1 SAR Data with ESRI's New Sentinel-1 Explorer Tool

ESRI recently launched the Sentinel-1 Explorer, which primarily features processed Sentinel-1 SAR data. As we know, SAR data processing is more complex than multispectral data. However, with the Sentinel-1 Explorer, users can bypass the processing and directly access pre-calibrated, georeferenced color composite SAR images. This functionality is particularly useful for disaster response.

With this tool, you can quickly obtain the latest satellite images and identify pre- and post-flood scenes in the cloud. The tool allows you to swipe between the images and create animations to visualize changes before and after the flood. It also directly classifies changes in water anomalies between scenes.

In this mode, you can select two images and calculate the difference between them. You can create change images based on Water and Water Anomaly indices. Additionally, you can generate a Log Difference image showing all changes in backscatter between the selected images. For example, you can calculate the difference in water levels between two images to visualize flooding in Assam. Using the slider, you can display only the areas affected by flooding.
