No India without the BRITISH?

Saif Ali Khan said, "There was no concept of India before the British gave it one" and we strongly disagree. There's enough evidence in our history that India is a clearly defined land with a common ancestral culture. There are references in our Vedas, Ramayana, and Mahabharat and mentions of the land called "Bharatvarsha" - the land between the Himalayas and the Sea. This is not a personal attack on Saif. But we believe that many empire apologists suffer from certain "historic amnesia" that the nation had been united before and with the turn of events it would've been united even again - with or without the British.
