First I will say both sides of the conversation to demonstrate. You can repeat after me or just listen.

Second, I will say the white half of the conversation (left side of screen), and pause for you to respond with the purple half.

Third, you will say the white half and I will say the purple half.

Sentence Practice:

Conversation with Friends:

Are you going to the game?
No, it’s raining. That sounds miserable.
Come on! Bring an umbrella!
It’s cold too. No thanks.
I’m going. I want to cheer for Kim.
Tell her I’m sorry I won’t be there!

Phone Call:

Hello?
Hi, is this Jim’s mom?
Yes, speaking.
This is the baseball coach. Practice today is cancelled.
Oh no! Why?
It’s stormy, so it isn’t safe to play.

At the Airport:

Hello, I’m here to check in for my flight.
Can I have your identification?
Sure, here it is.
I’m sorry sir, but your flight has been delayed.
What? Why?
It is too windy right now. Hopefully later we
will have better weather.

Shopping:

Excuse me, can you help me?
Of course! What do you need?
Are these boots waterproof?
Kind of. If it’s just raining, you will be ok. But in snow your socks will get
wet.
Oh, ok. Can you show me some that might be better?
