The group of soldiers led by Lawrence comes across a platoon of Turkish troops who have just committed a heinous massacre in the village of Tafas. One of Lawrence's men, who hails from Tafas, becomes filled with rage and calls for no mercy to be shown to the enemy. But when Lawrence hesitates, the soldier charges forward alone and meets a tragic end. Fueled by the death of his comrade, Lawrence joins the fray, leading his troops in a brutal retaliation against the Turkish soldiers, much to the dismay of his companion Ali. Though victorious, Lawrence is wracked with guilt and regret over the actions he took in the heat of the moment.
