Your loved one has passed away and you are grieving and you have to deal with Real Estate. Now what?

There's so much to consider and of course you don't feel like it. If you're the one that's left responsible for the estate you mostly likely have to deal with it. I had to do this twice in 2021 myself for my family. It's not easy, it's stressful and you need help . Since that time, I have helped many, many families in the same situation.

Things to think about...

1️⃣ Is the property in a trust? If it is, what does this mean? It should make things easier. Stay tuned to a future video on trusts.

2️⃣ If its not in a trust what do you do?

3️⃣ What do you do with all the personal items? Hopefully you have family to help you with this. Do you need to have an estate sale? A garage sale? Do you want to donate items? Do you need a dumpster?

4️⃣ Do you need a formal appraisal? Do you need to have inspections done?

5️⃣ Do you want to sell, rent the house out or does someone want to move into it? This is probably another discussion with your family.

6️⃣ If you decide to sell, do you want to fix up the house or sell it as is? Or is there something in between that might make you the most money possible?

7️⃣ What is the timeframe involved if you want to sell the house? How do you plan for this?

8️⃣ What happens to the property taxes during this time? Do they increase?
