We pulled up to the National Championship carnival OPENER in South Australia and we saw some ELITE AFL prospects.

In the opening game of the Marsh AFL Under-18 Boys Championships, South Australia overcame a halftime deficit to secure a 12-point victory over the Allies at Thebarton Oval, finishing 13.9 (87) to 11.9 (75). Key performances included Adelaide father-son prospect Tyler Welsh, who kicked three goals, including the game-sealer. Carlton's Ben and Lucas Camporeale contributed significantly with 26 and 23 disposals, respectively. Evan Bradley also added three goals, while Noah Howes, aiming for the mid-season rookie draft, impressed with 2.2 from 13 disposals. South Australia's captain Sid Draper returned strongly from injury, collecting 19 disposals, and Dyson Sharp shone with 25 disposals and nine clearances.

For the Allies, Gold Coast Academy talent Leo Lombard was a standout with 27 disposals, eight inside-50s, seven clearances, and a goal. Josh Murphy led their scoring with three goals, and promising performances came from Nathaniel Sulzberger with 21 disposals and Daniel Annable with 23 touches. Despite the Allies' strong start, South Australia's dominant second half ensured a victorious beginning to their campaign.
